Information ("the Word") – the Creator's tool?

In the second half of the XX century, the Creator revealed to mankind some of the mysteries of His creation, to enable us to better understand the Scriptures. From this perspective, the most important, perhaps, was the revelation of the structure of the “DNA” in 1953 (deoxyribonucleic acid), which clearly showed the presence of and the need for INFORMATION for the existence of all living organisms.
This discovery, together with the growing use of electron microscopes, helped scientists for the first time see and to some extent understand the structure and workings of a cell. Prior to this, no further than during the second half of the 19th century, the eminent evolutionist Professor Ernst Haeckel, believed that the cell is just a ”vial filled with gelatin.”
Parallel developments of computer technology and other sciences helped people begin the rejection of the Darwinian theory of evolution, that broke the link between man and God and forced humanity throughout the entire 20th century to live by law of the jungle, as well as significantly retarded scientific progress.

Scientists riot against evolution – “Intelligent Design”

Only 30 years after the discovery of DNA, a book by molecular biologist Michael Denton titled “Evolution: A Theory in Crisis,” breathed new life into a rising movement among SCIENTISTS – “Intelligent Design.” This movement is growing and gaining strength throughout the world, often returning people to the faith in God.
Darwin's theory, of course, is based on the denial of the role of the Creator, as described in the first sentence of Genesis 1.1: “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
With this powerful phrase prophet Moses, about 1480 B.C., begins his story about God's creation of “heaven and earth” in 5508 B.C. and the ensuing events.
Paradoxically, the evil of Darwinian denial of the divine order was fully comprehended and exposed not by official churches – i.e. those whose “specialty” were spiritual issues – but by a molecular biologist Michael Denton, an agnostic, who summarized the evils of Darwinism on page 67 of his aforementioned book, 1996 paperback edition, as follows:

“It was because Darwinian theory broke man's link with God and set him adrift in a cosmos without purpose or end that its impact was so fundamental. No other intellectual revolution in modern times (with the possible exception of the Copernican) so profoundly affected the way men viewed themselves and their place in the universe.”

And on page 358 of the same work:

“The twentieth century would be incomprehensible without the Darwinian revolution. The social and political currents which have swept the world in the past eighty years would have been impossible without its intellectual sanction. It is ironic to recall that it was the increasingly secular outlook in the nineteenth century which initially eased the way for the acceptance of evolution, while today it is perhaps the Darwinian view of nature more than any other that is responsible for the agnostic and skeptical outlook of the twentieth century. What was once a deduction from materialism has today become its foundation.”

I.e., that Darwin's theory actually “abolished” both the above message of Moses that “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth,” and the first member of the Nicene Creed: “I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.”

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth," Genesis 1.1

In the famous “Nine Homilies on The Hexaemeron”, Basil the Great devotes his entire first homile to this one sentence. In it, among other things, St. Basil says:
“5. It appears, indeed, that even before this world an order of things existed of which our mind can form an idea, but of which we can say nothing, because it is too lofty a subject for men who are but beginners and are still babes in knowledge. The birth of the world was preceded by a condition of things suitable for the exercise of supernatural powers, outstripping the limits of time, eternal and infinite. The Creator and Demiurge of the universe perfected His works in it, spiritual light for the happiness of all who love the Lord, intellectual and invisible natures, all the orderly arrangement of pure intelligences who are beyond the reach of our mind and of whom we cannot even discover the names. They fill the essence of this invisible world, as Paul teaches us. "For by Him were all things created that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible whether they be thrones or dominions or principalities or powers" or virtues or hosts of angels or the dignities of archangels.”

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

One and a half thousand years after Moses communication, Apostle John the Theologian tried to remind man of Moses' words in the prologue of his Gospel:
“1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
      2. It was in the beginning with God.
      3. All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made.
      4. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.”

But this also was not understood by mankind, giving all sorts of allegorical meanings to the term “Word.”
That's why Basil the Great, in his “Nine Homilies on The Hexaemeron,” is trying to keep the interpreters of Scripture from the “sophistry” and assignment of their own meaning with this admonition:
“I know the laws of allegory, though less by myself than from the works of others. There are those truly, who do not admit the common sense of the Scriptures, for whom water is not water, but some other nature, who see in a plant, in a fish, what their fancy wishes, who change the nature of reptiles and of wild beasts to suit their allegories, like the interpreters of dreams who explain visions in sleep to serve their own ends. For me grass is grass; plant, fish, wild beast, domestic animal, I take all in the literal sense.”
A Wisdom of Jesus the son of Sirach says the same and even more pointedly:
1:1 All wisdom cometh from the Lord, and is with Him for ever.
1:2 Who can number the sand of the sea, and the drops of rain, and the days of eternity?
1:3 Who can find out the height of heaven, and the breadth of the earth, and the deep, and wisdom?
1:4 Wisdom hath been created before all things, and the understanding of prudence from everlasting.
1:5 The word of God most high is the fountain of wisdom; and her ways are everlasting commandments.
1:6 To whom hath the root of wisdom been revealed? or who hath known her wise counsels?
1:7 Unto whom hath the knowledge of wisdom been made manifest? and who hath understood her great experience?
1:8 There is one wise and greatly to be feared, the Lord sitting upon his throne.
1:9 He created her, and saw her, and numbered her, and poured her out upon all his works.
1:10 She is with all flesh according to his gift, and he hath given her to them that love him.
1:11 The fear of the Lord is honour, and glory, and gladness, and a crown of rejoicing.

“Word” = information?

Despite such exhortations of the holy fathers and prophets, during the 7,000 years of human history, there were numerous attempts at “allegories.” For example, in one of the modern interpretations of the Gospel of John, we read:
“No matter how deep we manage to penetrate the depths of eternity of human thought, there, in the beginning, the Word already was present. In Greek the term 'logos' means not only 'word' but also 'concept,' and 'thought.' The term was widely used by ancient Greek philosophers, and in the writings of the Hebrew sages. St. John uses the term as something familiar to his readers, but he attaches to it a special meaning, as is clear from the Prologue.
“Word was with God – this phrase speaks of enduring special relationship within the Trinity, that existed from eternity (from 'the beginning'). The pretext of 'by' here is translated from the Greek 'pros,' suggesting in this context, 'stay in communion with' (in the same sense we find 'pros' in John. 1:2, 1 Thess. 3:4, 1-John. 1:2).”
Although the author himself points out that the above interpretations offer different meanings of the word “logos” – “word”, “concept,” “thought” – he prefers well-established by the 10th century A.D. meaning of the term as a member of the St. Trinity – Jesus Christ. In particular, in prayer: “It is truly is…,” in Russian translation, one reads: “... without the defilement of God-Word born ...” Note that the author justifies HIS “logos” interpretation by saying that St. John “uses it in a special sense, as is clear from the prologue!”
It is well to recall that the term “logos” was first used by the Greek philosopher named Heraclitus (544-483 BC) to designate the divine reason or plan which coordinates the functioning of the ever-changing universe. Therefore, it is not unreasonable to assume that St. John the Evangelist used the term in this sense, especially considering that it was written by the author of the Apocalypse, in which he, 2000 years before the invention and the use of computers, predicted global people-tracking system that could work only with powerful computers and huge databases. Not to mention the implantable chips and other “goodies.”
But what if we, instead of listening to judgments of Scripture interpreters who find a “special meaning” in the words of the Apostle, follow the admonition of St. Basil the Great: “I take all in the literal sense” ... and perceive the term “logos” as a “concept,” a “thought,” a “divine reason or plan," or, in modern terminology, “information”?
Indications that the word “logos” stands for “divine reason or plan,” or, in modern terminology, “information,” are all around us, both verbal and “natural.” In the light of the knowledge that the Creator bestowed upon us about the meaning and astronomical amounts of information necessary to man's existence, the most obvious is the emergence and the development of the human embryo. Here the Creator perfectly illustrates how information developed and packaged by Him in the DNA with unreachable for humans data density first “turns on” life of the embrio (a process, by the way, that is still not understood by humans), and then, cell by cell, builds a new human being. At the same time, this information is not only packaged “superdense,” but also contains a large number of “application software” performing “construction” not only of the necessary for the growth of the organism proteins, but also relevant “subsystems” necessary for the existence and operation of the human body.

Are humans using the knowledge bestowed upon them to their advantage?

Since people cannot understand the motives of the Creator, we can only assume that it is His purpose, once again, to show people the importance of information in our lives, to lift the curtain on one of the mysteries of His creation – people revealed the structure of DNA , referred to above. Another possibility – an attempt to keep humanity from the rapidly accelerating decline into the abyss of Darwin-provoked rejection of the Faith, sodomy, pleasures of earthly life, etc.?
Although to some extent people have learned to read information coded in the DNA, it should be noted that this information is only an instruction for the production of proteins for each species. I.e., the specification of “building materials,” which make up an organism. As for the information, determining how these materials will be assembled into a living organism – in what sequence, at what rates, etc. – not only do we not know anything, but we do not even know where this infomation is stored! One can only assume that this information does not reside on some material medium. But where it DOES reside – the Creator has not yet revealed to us. We can also assume that such information MUST exist somewhere – otherwise people would be born deformed (or would be not born at all).
Presumably it is also understandable why the Creator for so long – nearly eight millennia since the creation of the world and people – did not open the secrets of DNA. First, He foresaw that people probably would not use this knowledge for its intended purpose – to try to gain at least a little insight into the purpose of our existence – but will rush headlong to “improve” the Creator's works. This fear, by the way, is coming true: the notorious “genetic engineering” rapidly mindlessly creates genetically modified organisms, “GMO” – essentially new species.
But this is a direct violation of the covenant of the Creator's “directive” to reproduce “after their kind.” I.e., the DNA has been developed and imbedded by the Creator into all living things to preserve species – wheat as wheat, horses as horses, people as people. It is quite obvious that the Darwinian notion that everything in the world “evolved” (in some still undetermined manner!) from some “common ancestor” – nonsense.
Here comes to mind the discovery of atomic energy. After getting hold of this mystery, the first thing people used it for was to... murder about 200 thousand Japanese! And, after dispatching those Japanese, mankind frantically rushed to forge nuclear weapons to destroy each other...
How this “playing God” – DNA mutations – will backfire is impossible to predict. At the moment, we know one thing – ALL mutations (deviations from some God-eastablished “mean”) are harmful to the body. I.e., ANY mutation, which can improve some characteristics, generally weakens the mutants. In In many cases – deprives them of the ability to produce offspring (i.e., “turn on” the DIVINE natural selection by eliminating defective offspring. This gives companies like scandalously-famous Monsanto opportunity to profit from annual sales of GMO corn seed, since it is sterile.
Secondly, humanity technologically was not ready to understand this message – it is only in the second half of the 20th century that people were able to take a peak at the inner workings of the cell

and determine that the processes occurring in the universe, now and in the past, require a huge amount of information. Moreover, this information must be accurate, 100% error-free and delivered to its destination in the right quantities in the right format, and at the right time. AND THIS unequivocally indicates the presence of the Almighty Mind. Because, while evolutionists can somehow palaver grandiloquent arguments with reference to the chemistry and physics (with dreamed-up billions of years, “Big Bang,” etc.), deliberate and meaningful information can be developed, compiled and submitted by the Outstanding Designer, Consummate Mathematician, and Superb System programmer...
Whose instrument of creation is “logos,” i.e., information (“the Word”).
